Default aftermarket intake manifold?

Hi there to everyone,

Iv heard one of the biggest things holding the 8.0 v10 back is its ability to breathe. I have the exhaust opened up with headers, no cats, and a flowmaster 44. however the intake is untouched. Has anyone heard of an aftermarket intake manifold? or am i stuck with the loopty loop stocker?

Hi new to the forum there is a place that makes a universal one and several aftermarket ones. Therre is also a maximizer that increases air flow through the stock intake. I was thinking about the cold air intake but this is half the price so I might try it. http://www.engineperformancechip.com...maximizer-p-11

Get one from a Viper, and the best would be getting the heads too.

Eotpr- thanks for the reply but im looking for a full intake manifold, not just a cold air intake.
wermbang- according to the guy i got my replacement transmission and custom torque converter from as well as other sources, the dodge viper and dodge truck v10s are 2 totally different engines and the heads wont swap. i thought of viper heads and intake long ago but found enough reliable info to keep me from trying it. thanks for the reply though

oh and just a heads up Eotpr, i have heard of people actually loosing power with throttle body spacers and similar products. the products claim to give better power and full economy but people have found through dyno tests they dont work for dodge v10s and a few other vehicles

If you're looking for performance, the best thing I can think of is getting the heads ported & polished and some venturi intakes on each cylinder, that would open it right up, however, it would also be sucking everything into the motor. I can't say that I've seen any intake manifolds for the V-10. I know the heads won't swap, however, I wonder if the intake manifold could be modified to fit, or else you might be stuck with the stocker.

He said they have the same block, it may have been the older vipers too.

i may just try porting and polishing the stocker cause i know the older vipers use dual throttle bodies and so on and thats more work and money than im really interested in putting into an intake for my truck. i do know that one advantage to the stocker is dodge designed it so all runners are 24 inches long helping to provide the low end torque the trcuk v10 is known for

i hate to post in 2 day old thread but i know for a fact that the viper heads will not swap. however the viper intake manifold is almost a direct swap with little modification. i have seen dodge v10 trucks that have had it done. also the make a "nicer" Cam for the v10 truck motor that helps a little.
