Default 17" Factory vs. 20" Factory Rims

I've just recently purchased a 2006 Ram 1500 SLT.
It has the factory 17" rims. I've test driven several of the same model that have 20" rims. Would there be any problem in changing from 17" to 20"?

The 17 inchers seem to look small compared to the 20" I've seen....or could it be the tires?

Should be okay to change, but you might have to have something re-set.

It can be done no problem. Mine came stock with 275/60/20 and I am running 305/45/22 for the summer and 285/75/17 for the winter. All are just about 33" overall diameter. If the overall diameter is higher then stock size you need to recalibrate your speedo.

I just went from 17's to the OEM 20's. My speedo is now off by 3 MPH @ 60 MPH, which means my odometer would be off now as well.

Some of the performance programmers will allow you to recalibrate your speedo. Super chips also has a tire paq programmer

Default 20's are a lot of money

I am looking to go down is size to like 17 or 18, tire prices are a lot cheeper. I found a set of Cooper ATZ's 275 60 20 for $930 that is the cheepest set I found, everything else is like 1300 or better.
