Do you have IFS or a straight axle? For IFS There is a torsion bar lift kit and on a straight axle you swap out the front leaf springs. At the rear just add blocks to the factory leafs.

Cool

this was all posted on the caliber forumZ

"I lifted my Jeep Cherokee 3". What I had to keep in mind with that one was once you start lifting a vehicle you have to keep in mind the angles of the drivetrain. The Cherokee, for example, any more than 3" and you really had to start adressing driveshaft/axle/transfercase angles.

To do a 4" lift properly, you may have to look into that for your truck. The lift kit that came with my cherokee slightly tilted the rear axle to maintain driveshaft angle. The front lower control arms were slightly longer to keep the transfer case driveshaft at the same angle and centered in the wheel wells -- BUT -- this also pulled the driveshaft spindle out a fair amount from the rear of the tranny.

If you are just doing it for show, look for "add-a-leaf" or blocks for the rear, taller spring/shocks for the front ( you may need stabilizer bar relocator bracket ) and a body lift of 1 or 2" if that is possible on your truck ( i think it is ). Also, if you do a body lift keep in mind that going more than 2" can be unsafe in a collision - the body will shear off the frame and you may go on an unexpected ride, without the chassis.

If you are doing it for real 4x4'ing you'll really have to look into it more. Try the major magazines like 4x4 or Off Roading. They usually have a forum on their websites, and back-issues of tech articles online is possible as well."

"And now you can go back to the Ram ForumZ and do one of these and shame them that you had to go to the Caliber ForumZ for help."
