Default 96 Dodge Ram park light problem

Hey guys, my dad has a 96 ram with a slight problem his park lights will not work, I have checked the inside fuse box the fuse is fine with 13 v on both sides. I am pretty sure it is the switch which is the pull type because the interior lights on it are positional, so anyway 2 questions:
1. Will a 99 knob switch fit it instead of replacing it with the same pull type which I can't find. The general size looks the same but I don't know.
2. Any where I can find dash removal literature?
Thanks in advance.

There should be more fuses under the hood including a park light fuse. Crutchfield used to post dash removal instructions on their website but I haven't been there for a while so they might not have them anymore. If you need a new switch, as long as the electrical connecter is the same, it should work. Your local parts house should be able to tell you as well.

Before you replace the switch try either jumping the wires to see if the lights go on or check continuity across the switch . If you jump the wires together and the lights come on you know the problem is in the switch, if they don't the problem is not the switch.

I have a similar problem but my dash lights do not turn on, on my 1996 cummins. I set the parking break and heard a pop then the dash lights went off and have not worked since. Any thoughts?
