As of August 2013 this past year I was promoted to Timber Operations Manager for our fleet of roughly 70 log trucks in North Louisiana. I've been managing since 2008 when I was hired. I'm tasked with a job to continuously manage the caliber of CDL drivers hired which represents our company image in a positive manner and drives with total professionalism.

I'm a boss to my employees but a friend as well. I oversee and followup on dispatch schedules and coordinate approximately 180 loads per day. We're no daycare center and I'm no babysitter. Most of my employees are drivers with families to support and much older than I am. All I ask is they do what I hired them to do and do it safely.

I'm on call just about every Saturday but this is one of those "work hard, play harder" jobs. If you bury yourself in the daily operations the stress can get to you quick. I have a solid crew of drivers though. For the amount of effort asked day to day of these guys many of them just seem born for this kind of work.

I've got some photos of a few new rigged out Western Stars, Internationals, and Macks hooked up to some very nice Viking trailers. It's almost a crime to send such awesome rigs out to the woods where you know they'll take a beating, but it's what keeps us going!

I change oils in the rich peoples fancy cars/trucks. Well we do anything, but its the rich neighborhood. haha I mainly do the courtesy stuff i.e. check tires, vacuum, and clean the windshield. But I do a lot of the top stuff in the engine bay like checking the air filter, oils, and sending the oil.
