I would rather have dents and scrathes as long as my engine and other mechanical components are tip top. What I wouldnt want is an immaculate truck on the outside but barely farts up the road and is always on the fritz. But I did vote both becasue in a perfect world that is what I would want.

Voted both, but from the looks of my truck you wouldn't think so. Actually, for being 11 years old she looks fairly decent and runs like a champ. Almost all of my mods have been performance minded so far, but I do have plans for the looks end of the equation. I can deal with the dents and scratches for now...as long as she runs good!

My truck looked good from the factory, so I'd rather spend my dollars on stuff that makes it perform better. I can live without some of the junk people put on their trucks in the name of making it look good.

I haven't had time to read every post in this thread, so someone may have mentioned this already. The first thing I tore into when I bought my Dakota was the sound system. I ripped out the lame, muffled sounding factory system and installed my own components from Eclipse, Alpine, Fultron, and Rockford Fosgate.

I'm gonna say looks, performance can be awesome but costly at the same time, especially if something doesn't get installed right or causes a chain reaction of failure. Just my 2 cents.

Performance- I like the idea of having a "sleeper". I'd like my truck to look like it's stock on the outside (I really like the way the '09 Laramie looks straight from the factory), but then have lots of power under the hood. And if I were to decide to race somebody, their shock from having their doors blown off by a stock looking truck adds plenty of entertainment value.

I voted both too. For me, peformance is also about capabilty of the vehicle, so since I have a 4x4 and I actually like to go offroading, I mod my truck for better performance in that area. But I also like street performance so I mod a bit for that as well (although for real street driving I prefer my Corvettes). But if I mod my truck for offroading, I also want it to look good in a functional way.
