Is that the same engine as in the Nitros?? If it is it may be helpful to check out the Nitro 'Z'. Here' the link for it...

Dodge didn't make a Hemi or other v8's with a manual trans. I am partial to manual tran because it is what i have been driving my entire life. I feel more comfortable as well as secure with the manual trans. not only that they are also more fun in my belief. If there was a v8 with a sportshift trans or even tiptronic tran i would have gotten it, but they dont so i figured that there would be a swap or something. any idea's?

The 4.7L has always come with a standard transmission option... I know the HEMI did not... but you should be able to get the 4.7L with a stick if you want... i think the dealership may have been trying to make a quick sale.

When I shopping for my truck, I saw a few 4.7L with the manual. I would think you could swap that, but it will be $$$$$$$$$. It would probably be easier to get a new truck with the 4.7L and do a transmission swap.

Either way... You have a 3.7L and you want to increase the performance of it... So lets go with what you have.

The 3.7L is very similar to the 4.7L... and many of the performance mods that work on the 4.7L will in fact work on the 3.7L...
  1. 4.56's
  2. Electric Fan
  3. Cold Air Intake
  4. Increased MM throttle body
  5. ASP underdrive pulley
  6. High Flow "Y" pipe running into a single 2.5" or even 2.75" tube... a single 3" would be slightly too large for your 3.7L...
  7. Headers

I feel your pain, i too own a ram with the 3.7L so far i have modded the exaust and intake and am looking to step up the gear ratio a bit to help keep it in the proper power band when traveling. i have also been suggested to change from the centrifical fan to an electric one, which would help free up about 5-10 hp. unfortunately the 3.7L you will be pushing and squeezing every bit of HP possible with below average gains. also i have been looking into remote turbo systems. try looking into "sts turbo systems" 5lbs of boost can give you a 100HP gain. they claim they can turbo charge any veh. goodluck!

Default 4.56

Wouldn't 4.56 gears be a little too much for the V6? I'm looking to do a gear swap, but only looking to get 3.90. Wouldn't the engine be revving way too much?
