- Exterior Lighting
- Power Train: Transfer Case

Has there ever been a Ram recall because of paint problems? The clearcoat on my 99 Ram is coming off in sheets.

Not that I am aware of, but there probably should have been, lol! Seems Chrysler vehicles, IMHO, are the only ones I have ever had paint issues with, runs, bubbles, etc. I have heard of people with brand new vehicles where the paint is already chipping! That is one thing that made the choice of color for my truck easy, I already had the touch-up paint!

Yeah I sure hope they've made some break throughs on the paint thing (cause that would really bum me out).

My cousin's got the extended warranty (sorry it's an F-150) and Ford replaced his hood for some edge bubbles.

No recalls, but, if you have a problem, they will fix it...if your truck is new enough.

So, probably 2005 would be the cutoff right now. Or, if your paint is coming off for reasons that are obviously their fault.

My mom's Jeep Wranglers paint was cracking on the hood, right down to the metal. That is a definite lack of prepwork issue. Haven't gotten a chance to see if they'd repaint it yet.

But, being my 98 (only a year older than yours), paint is gone on the top, theres really nothing they'd probably do for you. Probably just tell you, you should have waxed it more

Ford, I know, completely repainted my dad's Crown Vic (popo car), because his had small bubbles in it, which, a few popped.

Oh, and whoever said that they wanted a Borla on their MDC truck...those things sound like crapola when they go to 4 cylinders...just warning you.

A buddy of mine alerted me to a safety recall on 2006 Rams concerning the front wheel bearings.

http://auto-recalls.justia.com/dodge...006/07v038000/

That same site has other Ram recalls listed too.

are there any recalls for a 98 dodge? cause my abs light and brake light are on and won't go off lol , which is common in all dodge's that i have owned so far. I have heard that the dealer would have to flash it to make it go away but i don't see the point in spending that kind of money if it's not hurting anything. just curious though

Yep, that's what I had to do, take a previous vehicle in to have the ABS module reprogrammed. Mine was under warranty still, though, so it cost me nothing.
