I am in the process of making my own. Its been a bit of a trick to do so, but basically the hardest part of getting it together is the attaching of the airflow sensor. I had to drill a 5/16th hole in the sweeping 90* bend and then take a small square file to notch the slots for the airflow sensor. Once I had that done, I then had to find a 1/2" thick piece of round aluminum about 1 1/4" in diameter to drill a 9/16th hole in order to get a nice tight seal on the o-ring. I still have to weld the round piece of aluminum and the tube that also needs to be stuck on to mount the PCV tube. I will take some pics and post them soon, so everyone can see my progress. I don't know if this is going to work as good as a BFI, or AFE, or K&N but it cost me all of hmm, nothing except for the filter that I bought for $40 like 3 years ago and never used. My only concern is the filter that I have might be too small. Oh, I got all the tubes and clamp seals/clamps from diesel truck engines(big rigs).

I just completed mine the other day and I did notice throttle response and also since I drive 65miles one way to work, I travel around 65-68mph and was getting 14.3-14.7 and now i'm getting 15.7-16.0 and that driving through WV in the Mountains. soo not too bad for $60!

Oh yeah by the way it sounds COOL too!!!!

BFI I think is the way to go. They just measured my 09 to build one. Oh ya I figured out that BFI stands for Big F**king Intake!!!

I'm gonna have to agree with Maddog here, the K&N's are worth the money IMHO.
