Default Gear Problem

I have an 07 Ram 5.7 Hemi. When I am in drive and driving in slow idle the truck progresses through the gears and at times it seems to be running in over drive at 20 mph. I have a Flow Master 50HD exhaust system and the sound is considerably different when the truck shifts into what seems to be overdrive. When I push the button on the side of the gear shift to over drive off the problem goes way. The truck does not make the bogging sound.

I have had Chevys and Fords and never experienced this problem in drive. Is this an isolateed case or do all Hemi's have this problem.

I had teh truck into the dealer several times before I put the Flow Master on and they claimed they coudl not hear the problem. I plan on taking it in, but just wanted some Dodge Ram owner feed back first.

Any insight woudl be appreciated.

Could it be kicking into 4 cyl MDS mode. And when you push the button it's shutting the MDS off ?

My thoughts exactly. Wonder if this is normal? Truck sounds bad with teh Flow Master exhaust, really sounds like it is in too tall of a gear and getting no power.

Thanks for the reply.

Seems we have the same truck. Have you encountered this problem with your truck?

I still have the OEM exhaust on for now. But I have read they sound like crap unless the MDS is shut off.

I will try the suggestion. I will have to read up on how to shut the MDS off. I must say the Flow Master 50HD makes the Hemi sound powerful, until it decides to play games with the MDS or whatever it is.

Thanks for all the input.
