Default 1998 5.2L randomly Dieing! what to do!

Ok here is the scenerio, I have a 1998 ram 4x4 318 auto and it has 45K miles right now. Well in the last week it has started randomly dieing on me when I let of the gas. Today it did it so bad that I couldn't get it started and idling. It will always start but as soon as you let off the gas it will die again. I had to have it towed home.

Any Ideas on what to look for? It gives no warning, like stumbling or anything, most the time the first clue is the loss of power steering. No check engine lights or anything.

Sounds like a fuel pump shorting out or giving up. When it's running, does it idle rough or at lower than normal RPM?
