My dad had mentioned that you have to wash your car early in the day during the winter just in case it gets below freezing that night. He learned the hard way not to do that or you get your doors frozen shut! Different lifestyle out here but I do like it. No cars driving down the street at all hours, haven't heard a loud thumping stereo in the middle of the night! NO traffic at 5pm here!!!!!
Hey what's wrong with rednecks glad to see your enjoying the snow you can have ours if you want it

As I said somewhere else, a traffic jam where I live is cane season, but as long as Domino's delivers pizza to my door, then I know I at least stand a fighting chance if I need an ambulance! I am used to living in bigger cities as well, and this place was a bit of a culture shock to say the least, but it does allow you to slow down a little bit, and I have found that I don't miss the hectic and the congestion, just the options of things to do, like restaurants, etc. As far as redneck drivers go, I know that every time it rains, it is only a matter of time before I start hearing the sirens! Gotta love small town life?!?

I agree on the slower pace bit! I am so used to the hectic frantic pace of big city life, coming out here where everyone takes their sweet time on everything is different! In time I will learn to adjust but a simple thing as going to the store to pick up a couple items and it takes a half hour because the person in front of you has to decide which card they want to use, then remember the PIN number, then have their large order rung up into 2 or 3 separate orders...yikes!!! And that was in the "express" line!!! I don't mind slowing down but seriously!

I think the rain is a problem no matter where you live! In San Diego a rainy day will net over 200+ accidents on the road! No one slows down!!

Boy do I ever know the feeling at the store, and I am always the person in line behind the one you are referring to, it is either that, or a price check, or some little old lady trying to write a check. I guess somehow, someone is trying to teach me a little patience, but I do enjoy the people where I live. Now if only I had patience behind the wheel (it's the pedal on the right, give it some gas will you???). Honestly, some folks have nowhere to go and all day to get there! That said, there is just a charm, a certain flavor to the nuances of small town life that are appealing.

Believe me, from somebody that came from the hurly-burly (near) London, England, to a sleepy town with only 97 people, you will adjust(and love it I hope), but it takes time.
I had my Christmas wreath stolen off my front door in England, here we don't lock our houses unless we go away for a few days, even then our neighbors all keep an eye on the place.
