Just found out i threw a rod in my 2002 dodge ram. Dealership said it would cost like 7200 to fix, new long blocks 6300 and labors900. Just didnt know what route to go, suggestions, is there a swap that shouldnt be much more exspensive
well id do that but i still have a loan on this truck so idk, i looked at jasper and the warranty and all is the same as the dealership and 2 grand cheaper atleast but there no authorized jasper enigne installer here, i would think the dealership would be but there website doesnt say so. I was just gonna do the 4.7 and upgrade some things, least my motor would have a warranty for the nxt 3 years
Why not the 360 (5.9) route? I dunno if the transmission will bolt up, but I know the 360 was in the 2002 and could be had for a lot cheaper than that. Even a Magnum 380 (380hp) is half the cost of that.
There should be a shop in your area that can install and service the motor under warranty???? The Dealership will always cost more unless you take a quote from another shop to them and have them match or beat the price.
