Default Ignition voltage

Hello everyone I am pretty new to this subject and I have searched the web and this forum but cant seem to find an answer. My company is currently working on a 09 ram 1500 quad cab and we need to measure the ignition voltage. Can anyone help me out by letting me know how to measure the ignition voltage and find any points of constant current in the wiring. We are adding things like cameras and sensors on the truck to use for inventory purposes in a railroad. So we are trying to learn as much about the electronics as possible. I might have more questions as we get farther along with the project. Thanks.
