Sure you can turbo a 4.7... she's tough enough to take 8psi or so... but the turbo is only part of it... you'll need larger injectors, a lot of plumbing, access to an oil gallery in the block, a drain hole in the pan for the turbo's oil, etc...
A pair of TO4's wold do nicely, one off each bank...

Here's another avenue... couple years ago someone had a complete turbo kit to put on the 3.7's in jeeps, dodges, ... do yourself a google search and do a little wandering through the web... you might find whom ever it was and most likely they've a kit for the 4.7

would a supercharger be a cheaper route? less plumbing, etc. I was looking at one for the wife's Charger (got the 6.1L) the part itself was about $4K, and a friend told me that install would take a couple 3 hours and he'd charge be about $100 buck and said I needed to help. Having it installed by a pro would've cost me almost another $1000.

have you ever herd of STS? http://www.ststurbo.com/
they have a kit for the hemi and the 6.1 challenger. I'm sure the hemi kit would not be to hard to do a custom install on the 4.7 a few years down the road this is what I'm looking to do

how about a 5.9L. I have been looking to try to get a turbo system for my truck(98 1500 5.9L 360 single cab short bed) and it is always either 5.7 hemi or an 02 5.9 but not 98. is it possible to turbo?
