Default Got yall a question

hey guys got a little question for yall my rear diff is leaking it just recently started so i'am going to take apart both differentials and give them a good cleaning and of course new gaskets and lube (thats pretty common sense) but my question is what kind of gear lube should i use my truck has 121,000 on runs like a champ and i need it to keep it that way so should i use royal purple or mobil one. royal purple lives up to its name it will improve horse power, mpg's and more mobil one well its mobil one thats all thats go's in my engine but i really don't know to much about. royal purple i've read about i've heard about it and watched a number of tv shows about it so i'm leaning towards it. the only problem i got with it is that its extremely expensive so tell me what you think and if you know of any others you think or know that is really good to hold on to please tell thanks everyone.

I'd go with the Royal Purple lube or a similar synthetic. They do run cooler and last longer, create less friction (hence cooler) and by the time you factor in service intervals, almost cost the same.

I had a rough year on the trails last year so I have had both RP and Mobil 1 in my diffs. A lot of deep water crossings. Mobil 1 seems to get better gas mileage for me in the diffs and maybe a slight bit of torque too. I originally noticed that Mobil 1 did better in the engine than RP then it was only natural to switch the diff fluid also. I have not tried redline nor amsoil. Alot of guys on ******************** have sworn by amsoil in the past but another PowerWagon owner can't lock his diffs after amsoil.

Go Mobil 1!!!! I love the stuff. It will also do away with some of the noise in one as well. The Mobil 1 is just a little cheaper around here also. But either one of them is a great product.

it is my opinion that most full synthetic oils are just about the same.... that being said, they're both excellent oils... check out the site below, everything you never wanted to know about oil...

good luck
