Default Paint Protection

What do you all do to protect your paint when you go off road? Is there such a thing as "scratch proof" paint? What can I do to protect my paint?

No.
Offroaders don't care about their paint.
Why?
Because they know better.

Try and look at it as adding character rather than adding scratches

Ain't they anything I could do? I would just primer the whole thing but I don't want to. I like a nice looking paint job. I don't want my truck to just be a show queen, I wanna MUD in it!

One thing some folks do is give the body a good waxing before they go out on the trail.

No amount of wax, however, is gonna protect the paint from scratches, dings or dents. If you get some light surface scratches from pushing past some bushes or such, those can be rubbed out.

Unless you put diamond plate on the entire body, you are gonna pay to play and That's The Bottom Line (Stone Cold Steve Austin).

PM sent. The wax thing will only protect and facilitate removal of very light scratching caused by passing through brushy areas.

If you get into a limb or other harder object, it's cut, buff, wax and polish time to remove those scratches.

If you get deep into the paint or primer, it's time for a repaint. There's just not anything that can protect from deeper scratches and the resultant damage.

If you wanted to be a total badass, rhino-line the whole truck.

It looks like crap though

How about LINE-X? It's 31% stronger than Rhino.

LINE-X on the rockers:

LINE-X on the entire vehicle:

Ya know, I've seen rock crawlers and serious off-roaders use a spray on lining for the lower panels and thought it was a damn good idea!
