Default Engine noise

Okay, so here is my problem. Last week I installed a CAI. The next day I started to hear a knock in the engine on the right side. I had been unaware, until yesterday, the differences between the different octane fuels and am going to refill at the specified octane for my truck to see if that does it. What I am curious about is could there be anything else that could be causing this noise, like the engine running lean. The CAI that I installed is supposed to be a hi-flow system, so is it possible that the computer hasn't been able to accommodate for the higher air ratio in the mixture? Is there a way to reset the computer?

I did check the oil level and the oil is fine. The knock is only occurring during acceleration and only between 1500 and 2k RPM's. It has been getting progressively worse, longer intervals and more often today. It does happen occasionally at cruising speeds but not at park or during idol.

My truck is a 2005 Ram with the 5.7L Hemi. It is at about 86k miles. It also went through a tune up recently. I am not sure if that may have caused it, but if you want to know the specifics of that let me know. Thank you all for your help.

Oh, and by the way, this forum kicks @** I'll let you know if the better fuel eliminates the knock.

Default

-Change your oil
-Fill up with premium (93 octane) at Shell/Exxon
-Put in some SLP Octane Booster
-Put in some SLP Fuel Injector Cleaner
-Drive it like you stole it for about half of a tank.

You have a high performance engine that doesn't like to be babied, give it the tools it needs to get back into shape.

Default Better gas

Well, Shortly after making my first post, I went and filled up with supreme (93). 3/4 of a tank later, the knock is still present. I should be refilling again today, so I am going to take aggie's suggestion and run some octane booster and injection cleaner through it. An oil change was done three weeks ago in the tune up, along with champion iridium plugs, and new plug wires. Is it possible the iridium's could be causing this problem?
