Question Need Help ASAP Shifter!

I am taking apart my center console on my 09 Ram with the shifter in center and I have it almost taken apart, except shifter knob won't let me. Does anyone know how to take it off?

Hmm..not sure about that one. May I ask why you are removing the console?

Two methods may work for you.

1) Take a firm grasp of the shifter knob (two hands) grip tight and twist counter clockwise. Some of the knobs were installed with a bit of blue loktite to keep them from spinning off.

2) Facing towards the dash on the front side of the shifter knob there may a small clip that needs to be depressed to release the part from the shifter shaft.

Okay I called the Warren Truck plant and asked straight from the source. They sent over some diagrams. You have to remove all trim pieces then whole shifter assembly comes out. The shifter knob stays on and doesn't remove.

I am putting in some lights and sirens and needed to wire some switches in the little cubby in front of the shifter.
