Default o5 ram hemi hesitation

I have an '05 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. The truck has 42k miles on it. In just the past couple of weeks the truck has developed a hesitation when starting to accelerate from a dead stop. It's when I first put it in drive and start to step on accelerator it seems there's some hesitation. it's fine if I get on it hard like passing a car. I'm running 89 octane lately to see if that helps. I dont see the rpm gauge jump or anything . I have read that the EGR valve could be going bad ? anyone else have any problems ?

I noticed that with my 2003. I got 43,000 on mine and it just recently developed. I dont think its anything serious.

Several possibilities:

1. your fuel filter may be partially plugged and needs to be changed.
2. your EGR valve has started to carbon up and stick. It may also need to be changed.
3. your fuel system EVAP cannister (large can sized object that has vent hoses coming and going to it) may need to be cleaned and recharged. Most have a charcoal based filter media.

Any Check Engine Lights showing up?

Then I'd not focus on the EGR valve because that definitely will throw a code while the others won't necessarily.

Are you keeping your fuel system clean? Try some fuel system/injector cleaner.
