Default Outer Tie Rod Removal?

I am having touble removing my outer tie rod from my 02 ram 1500. I can't get it out of the steering knuckle with my standard tie rod removal tools. Is there a special tool for this application? Any help would be appreciated. I also need to replace the hub assembly so any advice on that job would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Default Outer Tie rod end removal

Have trouble removing my outer tie rod from my 2002 4x4 1500. The removal tools I have don't fit this application. Is there a special remover I need to use? The threaded shaft on the tie rod is so long none of my removers are big enough to remove it from the steering knuckle.
Thanks

I have ofter unscrewed the nut just to the end of the threads then smack the nut with a 4 lb hammer, always leave the nut on to prevent the threaded area from mushrooming

Thanks for the input. Question, what type of nut are you using because the one that comes with the tie rod is not deep enough to cover the end of the threaded area which is hexed?

Thanks
