Default WTF is this thing?!

OK. Have any of you seen this?

It's a Turbonator...$25 and it apparently goes inside your air intake tube.

Could this thing possibly work?

Here is the claim:
This intake fuel saver's duel fan system rotates up to maximum speed of 55,000r/min. This light weight aluminum design helps cooler air flow to the engine and more dynamic control over the aftermarket intake system. The propeller sucks the air into the combustion chamber at a higher speed resulting in atomized burning which increases horsepower by up to 7% and saves up to 24% on fuel.

I have seen them used in marine applications, and also seen them advertised as "Electric Superchargers" on eBay. Have not seen one proven claim that they helped, but I have seen one test showing they actually reduced the cfm coming into the motor. It was on a four cylinder engine, but the fan blades and motor assembly blocked too much air and provided no additional intake pressure or "boost."

That is 110% correct. It serves no practical purpose except to make your wallet lighter.

Agreed. Mythbusters did an episode on better MPG gadgets and this was a similar product that failed big time. I'd take that $25 and spend it on filling 1/4 of your tank with gas. LOL

Totally bogus. Nothing to back up their claims. Save the $25 and put it towards a good Cold Air Intake. Now that will give you some bang for your buck!

That would give the intake more wind swirl, but not volume or air flow. Its a joke.
