Default Speedometer Problem

the other day i was putting in a new head unit. i turned it up and blew the fuse. i replaced the fuse but my speedometer does not work and neither does the overhead info center. the ABS light and parking break light are also on all the time. tried resetting the truck and nothing worked. also replaced the speed sensors and nothing happened. no fuses or relays are blown. any ideas what it could be?

Thanks,
Conner

I am not an auto technician but it is evident that what ever you shorted will need to be replaced; lets hope it was not the PCM. But our members that are auto techs will need to know what year and perhaps engine. I think some of the auto parts retail stores can check for codes at no charge.

i had the same problem on my 2007 3.7 no speedo abs parking brake and check engine light on. took it to the dealer it was the TIPM. Total Intergrated Power Module. The new one had to be configured and programmed.

i have a 98 with the 5.9L gas and i changed my trans fluid and speed sensor and now my brake light and abs light won't go off either...but here's the weird part...the speedometer works..just not below 20 mph. could it be the same thing or was the TIPM one of the new things with the new models? idk much about cars. How much did it cost to replace it and get it configured?

How did you check the fuses . Best way to check is with a test light or voltmeter across the fuse tabs . I don't trust pulling the fuses and eyeballing them . Sometimes the break is smaller than what your eye can see . #2 make sure you check all fuses and all locations .
