Default Air Intake

I apologize for all the questions recently, this is my first Ram and I'm trying to educate myself. I am looking at a K&N Intake and my question is what is the difference between the Series 66 and the Series 77? I have on '03 with a 5.7. Thank you.

From what I remember on the cars, 60 series was plastic and 70 series was metal.

66 claims more horsepower.

In all honesty you probably wont benefit from these intakes as much as they say. If you are set on the K&N I would look into what you like the look of/what you feel is more functional. I personally would look into the BFI from AirFlowInnovations.

One of the differences is that the plastic intake tube does a bit of a better job of resisting thermal transfter to the intake air from the tube material.

I don't think it's appreciable or measurable. Just make sure it fits your engine! I hate modding parts to mod my vehicles...LOL

Stay away from K&N if you can. They don't really make the best intakes for the money for Dodge trucks.

The only reason I was looking at K&N was becasue that was the only name I was familiar with. Thank you for all the input. My main purpose for an intake is to improve my MPG any way I can.

Take a look at the AFE stage II CAI...it may fit and a lot of my 5.7L Dodge and Chrysler LX platform friends swear by them...not at them!
