Default Towing Capacity

I'm kinda liking the look of the 1500, regular cab short box but the information I'm finding seems to be more about the larger vehicles.

Does anyone know what the towing capacity would be for a rcsb with the 4.7 and the 5.7 respectively?

My car and trailer together with extra wheels, tools and fuel etc. is between 5,500 and 6,000 pounds.

Also fuel economy. The rcsb must be lighter than the quad cabs and so on but all I see is numbers for the large vehicles.

Any figures or personal experience for fuel with the 4.7 and 5.7 in the rcsb.

Thanks.

I know my 06 HEMI has a tow capacity around 8500lb if that helps.

Yeah, I guess the HEMI is going to have more than enough for what I need no matter which truck it's in so maybe the question really is whether or not the 4.7 is up to it.

Price difference between the two motors isn't that much to worry about and mileage is supposed to be about the same for each in a given vehicle but I have concerns over too much electronic management and that maybe the variable displacement on the HEMI will decide it wants to run on two cylinders all the time once the warranty is up..lol

I like my HEMI and on the highway you have more power when needed, and better MPG.
