I had a Ford PS 6.0L I did intake 4" magnaflow downpipe turbo back, then programmed.....get the exhaust first because it helps the truck breathe better and less back pressure which causes major heat build up with a programmer.....even though right off the bat with the programmer you will notice a huge night and day difference! If you do choose to go programmer first, you MUST do exhaust soon after!

My way was cheap, but I dont know if there really is a performance gain from it. I just cut off everything after the cat and replaced it with 2-1/2" pipe with a y- pipe at about the rear end, out to 3-1/2" chrome tips. I figure since there is no muffler or anything to constrict flow, it should help. Of course, I did it mainly for the wicked sound it makes=)

remember zekery360, your engine needs some backpressure!
or you might actually be loosing power....

I also just chopped off my muffler and had really crappy power and it sounded like ish... Just my personal opinion. I threw a Magnaflow on, and it sounds beautiful. I am very partial to Magnaflow and would very highly recommend it.

Will notice a increase in performance by doing either upgrade , so do both .

I can't say for sure, but my "seat of the pants" dyno says my power is the same. Mileage went down, but I was driving more aggressively as well. I was looking more for sound then power there. But, again, I can't tell for sure. Good point though!

6hp is achieved from just a magnaflow muffler. If you get the muffler and add on a Jet chip, thats another 19hp and total 25hp ontop of stock. Good setup for less than the price of a whole exhaust system, not to mention the great sound Dyno proven by the way.
