alright so i baught some baja lights from auto zone and i places em on my bumper and every thing is all hooked up rite. But for some reson i keep blowin fuses like crazy and ive had to buy 2 new fuse holders and when i try to by pass the fuse one of the wires starts to melt. and every thing is hooked up rite. there grounded to my bumper i have the power comin straight off the battery i have the switch in the truck all right. any suggestions?
What size wire did you use to go to the lights? You should not have to run separate wires unless you are using to small of a gauge wire and that would cause heat in the wire. Then you have to check if the wire going to the switch from the battery is right. Other wise I would have guessed a pinched wire, or shorted someplace.
they were pretty small wires i ended up usin a thicker wire for the power but the deal was that both the lights ran into one wire and it was e size of speaker wire so i went back and used seprate wires and ran both to one switch along with the power now they both work fine
thanks next im goin to mount 4 on my head ache rackon top.jpg
those are the ones i use to have runin on top till my crazy x knocked em off with a bat. i had them wired up to my amp and the switches were mounted on the side of my center console

Always use wire rated for the job. Lights in trucks run on 12vdc and pull more amps than in your house because of the lover voltage. two lights @ 55 watts is a little over 9 amps. That would be a minimum of 16gauge wire. I had a buddy start his truck on fire because he used the wrong wire ( plus he was a dumb a$$). Always use a fuse, and if it blows there is a reason why and fix it.
Sorry for rambling, don't wont to see people get hurt. I am an electrician and I have seen some big mistakes that have cost people big $$$$$$$ and do not want that to happen to anyone here.
