Damn inspector decided to play Inspector Clueso, Deputy Dog, or Professor pain in my "A" today.
Went for a trespassing trip through my under carriage and noted into the state system all the bad things the previous owner did to my newly acquired truck. Some may remember my billy bob exhaust from my newbie post. Well apparently "billy" gutted the cat. Can't weld worth a damn. Pin leaks and lots of em. Tail pipe hanger is missing.
So fails me on the safety side of a two part!!!!!
Now to be fair he did also strike me for three out of four (gonna replace em all) ball joints which would fail me also, but really if I was not such a nice guy I might wish to choke this little puke of an owners son.
NOW for the real kicker it PASSED the states emissions inspection. Got the sticker on the window.
So I went to a forum advertiser AutoAnything ordered a Magnaflow Direct-Fit Catalytic Converter. and a Flowmaster cat back exhaust system the Force II. Guess I need/wanted it anyway but damn I would rather do it at my leisure.
Sorry it had to be sooner than you wanted, but you should be very happy with those items. The only good thing about the ball joints is glad he caught them now, and not when one failed going down the road!
Apparently this fella can do or look at, then note his findings to the state wide inspection computer what ever he wants. So that I cant go to old two finger joe's "if it rolls it goes." Shop down the street and have it passed. BY the inspector not playing detective.
This stuff will get worse as the economy does. Gota drum up business somehow.
I was lookin' at a cat back system from Summit Racing recently. It is the single 3" out the passenger side one that they sell. Does anyone know how well it performs? Is an increase in fuel mileage to be expected with these types of systems?
