Default 4.7 liter PIG

Just got the '09 Ram with the 4.7 and it has NO low end guts. I can't brake the tires loose no matter what! I turned off the ESP and tried to powerbrake... it wont even rev to 2000 rpm!!! I know this is a very diff truck than my old '01 318 but what's the deal!?!?

Interesting observation... I have not tried it in my 08, but I know it doesn't try to spin at the light when I get down on it. Did they add TSM for the 4.7?

You still have torque manage meant on that engine... its not due to lack of nuts...its due to them being tied up on a rope. The PCM controls the low end power in order to protect the transmission.

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

That all makes sense. I called the dodge dealer near me and they said "You just have to let it break in"...Any easy ways to get more off the line punch? I was thinking exhaust and air intake. Any suggestions?

tried holding esp button 5 seconds and every other way I could think of. I still can't get the engine to rev higher that 1800-1900 rpm with brake applied. Do I need to reprogram or should I make this my wifes piece of s@*t and save for a different truck?!!!??

???? You bought the truck after test driving it right .........??? Did it break the tires loose when you got in it while the sticker was on the window? The 4.7l has plenty of low end tq.... You probably have the 3.55 Rear End in it and the Computer is saving your transmission. The Rev limiter is there to keep the engine from being over-reved........Good Luck
