Default Quad Cab Rear Seat fold Down Mod

My first post guys- sorry if this is already up somewhere but I could not find a search function on this site.

Question: I keep seeing references to a "Rear seat fold down mod" for quad cabs, but can't find an actual pic or description. I'm pretty handy, so I just need a nudge in the right direction to accomplish this.

I ask because I'm deciding between a $250 MTX Thundeform (box only) and some other, $100, lesser box. The thunderform leaves you space under the seat for your amp, the others do not. (And the t-form still has tons more interior volume!)

The Thunderform is clearly better (and the retailers know it. . .) But what are peoples thoughts on folding seats, t-form vs. cheap wood, etc? Seat issue is most important.

Thanks for your ideas folks! Look forward to customizing my first pickup with you guys.

-Brian

When the rear seat folds up you'll notice that the back slides up. There are some hooks that can be cut short so you can fold down the backrest to re move the seat is just taking out the bolts at the base and piking up the seat till it disengages the hooks. If you are going to put subs in put sound mats in first.

What he said ^^^ except you can just flip the brackets around and not have to cut them.

Thanks you two- gonna run out and do that right now.

I think I'm going with the thunderform, (2 10's underseat) so how much dynamat, back wall or under the box in the storage compartments or both? I'm experienced with car audio but admit I've never decided to "afford" dynamat. I want this truck to be right though, so any advice appreciated. Does the knock off sound mat work? I don't know if this is kosher on these boards but I'd call one of you two on my dime and listen to anything you have to say about audio for this truck or other interior mods.

Thanks again, -Brian

From what I have read, deadening the back wall reduces the outside road noise quite a bit. I would look into adding some to the floor simply because it is a single layer of sheetmetal in the storage area. Even though it feels pretty thick, it can vibrate like crazy with some beastly bass.

Thanks, Dan and Jim for the info. I just did that mod (jeez its hot here in KS) here are a few pics for anyone curious how this is done:http://lh4.ggpht.com/_YDgTNBsTnvE/Sj_Ip2y1udI/AAAAAAAAABc/se-V9tY2RTc/P6220189.JPG[IMG]http://lh6.ggpht.com/_YDgTNBsTnvE/Sj_IqGnKAoI/AAAAAAAAABg/kpdRUievh8w/P6220190.JPGhttp://lh6.ggpht.com/_YDgTNBsTnvE/Sj_IqmWsv7I/AAAAAAAAABk/G_6RjdaADJw/P6220191.JPGhttp://lh3.ggpht.com/_YDgTNBsTnvE/Sj_Iq9RQytI/AAAAAAAAABo/-4efAiPjado/P6220192.JPG
My truck
before/after bracket switch (trim away insulation for proper fit)
seat folded down
raise this much to "unlatch"

Thanks again guys quick and easy, worth doing. -Brian
