Are you wanting to do one or two subs under the back seat?

eD is pretty stout. I put some of their older model 8" in the front doors of my Ram, and they can get pretty low.

i'm building mine right now, if you opt to put a recessed amp in the middle of the box, you will lose a lot of air space needed to drive subs.
I have a box that is 59"X19"X4":
1. The MDF Portion is (26"X16"X2.5") giving you .60 CU/FT air space
2. The glass volume I measured with packing peanuts (12"X12"X8") giving you .66 CU/FT air space. combine per chamber make it 1.26 CU/FT air space.
3. Now take out the displacement of the sub going into the box, and that should give you about 1.0 CU/FT or if is a shallwo mount sub approx. 1.17 CU/FT PE CHAMBER.
4. ADD a little polyfill and that will bumb you back to 1.3-1.4 CU/FT max, with that I will only go with 10" subs in sealed enclosure. to math for the ported box will be a diff story.
5. Place take into consideration the sub travel with low frequencies or you will damage the subs when it start pounding into the seat if is down.
6. I also raised the rear seat 2" for the box to fit as the seat bottom is the wedge kind (angled). and this give the rear passenger a better view of the back seat (LOL)
I can say that this trucks can have great SQL but you loose a lot of storage space.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PROJECT

I am looking at the solution to this myself. Ever noticed how much room there is behind the grill and front bumper? I am thinking of building a storage compartment that fits behind the bumper so as not to block airflow coming in to the radiator. Of course it is just a thought that floats around in my head...

i like were you are going with that, but I think will be a lot easier to built a a watertight compartment to fit inside the bed buckets and not risk overheating your truck. I have tought about that since I tool around with the bike and track gear in this mofo, just been working 11-13 hour days for the last two months that haven't had a chance to to nothing with the truck.
