Default Driver door won't unlock!!!!

I am having a problem with my driver door lock. Problem is that it will not unlock with the key, remote or the switch. I am having to open the back door reach in and pull the handle to get in. What seems to be the problem and whats the cost to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Pull the door panel off and check the connecting rod. They're simply held on by a plastic clip that may have broken. It's not common but possible.

if it doesnt lock at all, like you cant hear the solenoid switching then you need a latch

Sounds like connecting rod to exterior handle or locking mechanism. Could be that little plastic clip has broken.

he isnt having problems opening the door he has problems with the lock not locking or unlocking, the latch controls this electronically and if the lock solenoid goes bad it does not work electronically, opening the door while its locked from the inside and it unlocks the door means that mechanically it is funtioning, the lock rod doesnt affect any part of the door not locking or unlocking electrically, it is actually controlled by the solenoid even if it fell off the door latch, the latch should still lock and unlock. Remove your door panel take off the covering watch the lock rod attatched to the latch see if it is clicking or even moving

on my 2000 the key lock seems to be linkage driven. the unlock button on the door is a solenoid. i do not have keyless entry, and also dont know the year of your truck. however if i use the inside handle the door will open regardless of if it was locked or not. i agree you should take off the door panel and watch what really is going on in there. you will need it off to fix it anyway.

The linkage is either bound up, broken or has worked it's way out of the pivot points.
