Default 2004 odometer

i have a 2004 ram with 20 inch tires and just recently it came to my attention that the odometer is out of calibration , does anyone know if the odometer is factory set for the smaller tires

The Odometers are calibrated for the size of the "original"wheels on the truck.Chances are somebody replaced them with the twenty inch wheels, hence your problem!

it's an easy fix. you can either use a power programmer to adjust for the larger wheels and tires, or you can go to the stealer and have them recalibrate your speedo and odometer.

the programmer will set you back several hundred bucks, the stealership shouldn't be too much, perhaps a half hour's labor charge....
