Default ball joints/ 97' 2500 4x4

Can anyone tell me if i need to remove the steering knuckles to replace the lower or upper ball jionts.? Can it be done without removing the knuckles..? Not sure.......

i didnt have to take my knuckles off to do mine, but it was not the easiest thing in the world to do

I didn't have to with the ones I have replaced (not on Rams though). A ball joint remover definitely makes it quicker though.

did mine today, used a ball joint press. got it at advanced auto parts, they rent them out. in order to use the press, you have to take the knuckles off. it will be a bitch doing it without the knuckles off. its not bad taking off the knuckles anyway.

i had to use a torch and the press to get the ball joints out. it sucked but got new moogs in now so im relieved.
