Default Pitting aluminum wheels

My 07 with the 20 inch wheels are kinda pitting from brake dust, I assume. Is there a way to remedy this?

I bought a used st of wheels for my Trans Am and one had heavy pitting on the lip. It can be fixed if you are willing to take the time to do it.

Get some sand paper. Depending on your comfort level you can start with a course grit and work your way up to 1500 or 2000 grit. It works similar to wet sanding paint but a lot more forgiving. When I did my wheels I started with 60 grit but I would suggest starting with 100 and use a spray bottle with a soapy water solution. Keep the area wet and sand till you can see the pitting is almost gone. Don't remove all the pitting at first because you will work up to the 1500 or 2000. Once you have finished with the finest grit you can take some mothers billet polish and a nice quality microfiber towel and polish the area by hand. It will shine almost like chrome once done. I have some pick i'll host later and post so you can see the difference.

If the wheels are clear coated then this will obviously remove it. But I think the wheels really look better without it anyway
