Default Wheel / Tire Upgrade

I see several threads about what larger size tire &/or wheel can fit but what I need to know is a little different then what I have seen posted.

My 09 (4X4) came with 17" wheels and 265/70/17 tires and what I am wanting to know is what size tire can I get with a 20" wheel and not have to add any lift or leveling kit ?
I am hoping to get a 20" wheel & tire that will give me the same diameter measurement as my current factory 17" set up I posted above.

Is this do-able ?
I plan on using the factory set up during the winter months.

Thanks for any help, RiD

Your 17" rims and tires are smaller than the stock 20" rims and tires. The 17" you listed are showing to be about 31.6" tall, the stock 20" (which are P275/60R20) are about 33" tall. To get the same height tire with a 20" rim, you would need to get a P245/60R20. So no lift or level would be needed with either choice.

Go to Miata Net for a real good easy to use tire size calculator. You can plug the tire size in the box and compare with your stock tire. Brands will vary slightly but you can get an idea of what you may want to use.

Does anyone know if 20" wheels from a 2007 Ram would fit a 2009?

Thanks.

I'll answer my own question. Yes, they do - and they look great!
