Exclamation header questions...

I have a 2006 1500 hemi, quad cab 2wd. ok so i have magnaflow catback exhaust right now, stock headers and cats. i have been doing alot of reading about which headers i want to get, originaly i was leaning towards the BBK shorties, but 99% of people here are saying spend the extra money and get long tubes... my question is, what would i have to do to get long tube headers to fit properly?? and how much would a shop charge, if i provide the headers, to install them?? thanks.

Cost for installation depends on the shop. I have mid-length headers on my 95 Silverado and local shop only charged me $175 to fabricate the Y-pipe and install them and the fabrication was extra work they didn't have to do. I think House of Mufflers and Brakes was going to charge me $300 or something, if I remember correctly, to install them. I hear these trucks are a pain to get headers on but I don't know for sure. The best way to find out is call around for quotes, it can't hurt.
