Default Wheel spacer question....

Hey yall, I have a question regaurding wheel spacers ... I just bought an 04 RAM quad cab 2WD. It came with aftermarket rims and tires and there are spacers on it. The first thing my buddy says when I get it home(after a 2000 mile drive) is that I should get rid of them, they are dangerous. Is this true? here is the truck. I see that there is a tiny bit of wheel rub.

Generally wheel spacers would be ok if you made sure you had a longer stud for the lug nut to bolt up. I would never personally run them but if installed correctly they wouldn't kill you. Maybe they make you look like an idiot but to each his own I guess.

It is always far better to just buy a wider wheel with the correct offset to achieve the look you want. You can’t hide that Kmart accessory kit from us.

They may have tried to get the wheels to stick out farther for a more "off road" look. My opinion would be to take them off.

I'm not trying to hide anything. I'm trying to gather information on something I don't know about. your somewhat decent info stopped after the third line. I didn't ask for your thoughts on what it looks like.

If I can find someone that wants the wheels without the spacers, they're yours! I need something to put back on the truck first though.

will those wheels and tires not fit on your truck without the spacers? generally people who get spacers for their rams are running a 12.50" wide tire on a stock wheel.

Wheel spacers won't do you any harm Raideyjay has been runnin them with his SRT-10 22's for pretty much as long as he has had the truck(trucks an '06). I wouldn't worry about them as long as they aren't too thick, then you run the risk of putting to much stress on the bearings and they will just wear prematurely.
