Default New here and to Dodge, couple questions

Looking at a new truck, Ram and the Tundra, drove a Ram last night, it had the Hemi, it is a very nice truck, like the looks. I have been a Ford guy, but yawn on the looks and the engine.

I like the Big Horn Edition.

Nice controled ride. And a strong engine!

I was looking at the extended cab 4 door, not the quad, I like the bigger bed.

I will mainly be towing a 19' glass boat, those of you that tow, is the I think the 3.55 gears adequete?

What kind of mileage do you guys see that tow?

Give me some reasons to pick the Ram over the Tundra?

How about the Lifetime Powertrain warranty. I pull a 21' pontoon and can't tell its back there. You will be fine pulling your boat. I like the cylinder shut MDS feature too. I get 23 mpg on the highway. In my opinion, the Ram is the best looking 1/2 ton. I like the F 150 from the the cab back, but hate the new front end. It seems that Ford is making the grills of all of their vehicles look the same.

I am a long time Ford truck guy but after driving the Ram and finding out what kind of a deal they would make me on my 04 F250 trade in, it was a no brainer for me. The dealer sold both Ford and Dodge trucks. The truck they wanted to sell me was a quad cab with the larger box, which is actually what I wanted. However, it is always a tradeoff since the crew cab has a larger back seat but a smaller box. I tow a 20 YarCraft glass boat. I posted the mileage in another thread, which I consider very acceptable given how the truck is set up. Mine happened to have 3.55 gears but if I was going to tow a lot I suspect the 3.92 gears would be better. I have no problem with power and the transmission does not seem to shift up and down a lot even with the Tow-Haul inactivated. I think if you were in hilly country it might be a different story. I picked the Ram because of the deal they would make me, the high quality of the interior, the power train, looks, great handling and ride. No regrets from this Ford quy.

While I don't pull anything with my Ram, I can say that I have had a Tundra for the past 5 years. I tested out a new Tundra and while I liked it, I wasn't able to get as much for my money. I test drove a base model crew cab and they wanted $30k after discounts. I didn't want to trade down by giving up a loaded Tundra for an empty one. I found my loaded Ram with 2000 miles on it as a demo and received a hefty discount. I got nearly $12k of a discount. I couldn't be happier.
