That is pretty sharp. Do you like the sound with the subs under the rear seat?

ya when i crank up the bass i cant see out of my mirrors they vibrate so much.. its awesome and sounds really nice when i have it set just right. i also put in a bass control knob so i can adjust according to what music i have on.. or if my mom r dad rides with me i can turn it down really low

Nice... I remember the look on the dealer's face when I took them the mirror from my 2004 Ram. The Kicker CVR's I had in there at the time had snapped the shaft in half. Had the glue on the windshield fail all the time from vibrations, but never actually broke a mirror until then.

colingibb, how did your Polks fit in the doors? Anything to look out for like window clearance?
The Polks fit very well into the doors -- the only issue was in the front door, the tweeters did push out on the doors a small bit. You would never notice it unless you are looking for it, and it doesn't affect the sound.
There is no issue with window clearance, just make sure the wires are bound to something so they are no loose in the door -- then the windows will hit them, but that's with any speakers.

Yea, there was already a hole in the carpet right where I needed it for the power seat controls, so I just used that to run all the wires under that carpet...turned out looking very neat and tidy.

Default Next Step

Okay, so bought myself a Christmas present :-)

Picked up a Kicker ZX4001 Mono Amp, a pair of Kicker 10" Subs, and the custom box for the Dodge Ram.
I already have the existing Audiobahn 4 channel amp under the driver's seat driving my four Polk Audio speakers, and I need to find a place to install the new Amp...not sure if it will go under the passenger seat, as the Jack is there, and while I can take it out and relocate it, I'm not sure if the amp will fit properly there because the floor is not flat like under the driver's seat.
I have also heard some people mention that they mounted it behind the rear seat, but since there is just barely enough space there, and the seats won't fold up when that's done, I'm not crazy about that idea -- especially b/c I'm afraid of it getting quite hot.

I also want to see if there is space on the floor between the two speakers, there is a little cutout on the box, but I'm not sure that there will be.

Anyone else run into this? Where did you install your second amp?

Also, I'm still getting alternator whine from after I installed the H/U, I am going to try seperating the current RCAs and the power -- they are not running together, but they are on the same side.
Anyone know if the twisted pair RCA's are any better? Best Buy has a set of 4 channel twisted pair kicker RCA's for about $70, and if they are worthwhile, I'll consider investing in them.

I have attached a picture below of my new addition before it's installed.

Any feedback, suggestions, advice is welcome!

Thanks!

Colin

I since replaced my Head Unit with a Clarion NX500 -- now it's off to add my second AMP and Subwoofers...just having some issues trying to decide where the heck to install the Amp.
