There is a possibilty of leaks just dew to the synthetic cleans out what the conventional could have made a seal with but the synthetic will seal it back it wont be this hugh leak if it even leaks at all.

I have over 160k on my 95 RCLB 4X4 with a 318. I switch back and forth between the synthetic and regular oils with no leaks. I run synthetic in the winter mostly. It get cold here in MI. In my Daytona I mostly run Mobil One, but it only has 18k on it...till tomorrow when it will head out to Colorado Springs, CO, with the family and me! First time out west, It's been to Florida twice.

Know what is great and an amazing deal. go with Valvoline syn-blend. this way if your rings are going you will not lose all your oil out your tail-pipe. about 5.00 a quart. also not 100% man made or to thin of a product

i talk to the guy at my local DYNO shop, asked him about what he stocks as far as oil, he told me Mobil one, i asked about Royal Purple & he said it wasn't worth it, he mentioned that he carries another synthetic oil as well, but, i didn't write it down. i'm going with Mobile one http://www.thedynoshop.com/

I changed over to synthetic and I will never go back. I actually noticed a difference when I switched. I dont know if it was just in my head, but i really think i made the truck run better. Also I have a Oil Pressure guage in my truck and that moved a lot smoother when switching over to synthetic. also any engine knocking i had before all went away with the synthetic switch

I have the Castrol Synthetic in my truck. Just a buffer till i get my hands on some Amsoil haha

Synthetic oils are not "thinner", if you are comparing two oils of the same grade they have to meet the same standards for viscosity.
