Default For those with the Vararam...

How is the noise, does it growl at you when you go WOT. What about crusing speeds? I know some intakes sound like a UFO, does this hiss or whistle? Thanks

Seeing as though i am your only answer on this thread for the last, 10 hours...I would go ahead and look for another CAI...The Vararam is huge, and covers the whole top of the engine, and has hoses hanging down going toward the front bumper(which is tacky to me), and this system is still a mass produced product(as mentioned on other CAI threads in this forum)...If I were you, I would check out the BFI CAI(specifically made for a RAM HEMI truck), now there are other mass produced CAIs like Volant that have had good feedback from people on this forum too....You should check out the Poll question about the "Best CAI for the HEMI"...http://ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=41828

I had the Vararam on my truck for about a year. I did not like the fit it had under the hood. Looks awesome. It did rub and make noise. The filter did not seem to seal good enough for me to the base of the lid, and when you are sucking alot of air, bugs, leaves and small children in,I prefer to have a better sealing filter. I was worried the air coming in was dirty and getting into the engine. I replaced it with the K&N CAI. Just my 2 cents.

replaced mine with a trueflow xdi, dont know if performance is the same but fit and finish are not even close. everytime i opened the hood i had to adjust or move something with the vararam, and the filter did not seal, very cheap plastic. xdi went on and forgot about it. just my 2cents.
