Default 98 Ram, brake and ABS light

Hey guys and gals...

This has happened before, and, though, I haven't put a scanner on it...my ABS and brake lights have come on, again.

When it happened before, it was some sensor in the rear end? This time, I drove through a pretty big puddle.
One of those, encases the whole truck in water puddles...well, that was about 6 months ago, and this light has been on seconds after, and since.

But...I was driving a semi long distance the other night, at night, and the bright orange and red light were driving me crazy...lol

So...does that sound like thats what it would be again? Is this a known problem? And, why would driving through a puddle even hurt it?

Thanky thanky.

Sounds like you have either a glitched sensor or the connection to it is corroded from getting too much water in it. Try pulling the sensor and cleaning the connections at both ends. Then, put it back in, remove your fuse for the Auto Shutoff or PCM fuse, then put it back in and fire up the truck. You may be able to 1) fix the connection, and, 2) clear the code.

If the code comes back I suspect the sensor has given up and it will need to be replaced.

Check the magnet also on the sensor . You could have some debris on it . Clean it , check and tighten up your connections and let us know how you make out .

will do...if that don't work...its bulb pulling time

Also...every few key cycles, they don't light up. Is that just the computer resetting itself?
