Default New guy here, got a question for you.

I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.2L. It has a rough idle, and if you give it some gas and then let off the rpms drop real low for a few seconds and it almost dies. Also while driving it hesitates, it is inconsistent and doesn't make any noticeable sounds. The hesitation most of the time is when i am at constant speed or lightly accelerating. When I accelerate it doesn't seem to have any loss of power. I does hesitate when accelerating sometimes. I was just looking to see if anyone has had this kind of trouble. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the ForumZ ! Sorry I don't have an answer to your question but i'm sure that someone with a better knowledge will chime in soon. Don't forget to fill in all the infos about your truck on your UserCP , this way you will not need to list them on all your posts.

Hey, what you have is the throttle body is dirty and the butterfly is sticking, take the intake hose off and hold the throttle wide open and clean the inside of throttle body, with some carb cleaner ,it will be easy to see, it will be jet black, when you have it clean, put intake hose back on, go to walmart or advance auto and get a can of sea foam, put it in the fuel tank, your problem will go away, jessman
