Default Carb problems

Hi i have a 84 Ramcharger with a built 318 and i cant get the carb on it to work right, i think it might have gone bad, its a edelbrock 600cfm 1405#, and the truck is runing lean but no matter how much i richen the jets and met. rods up it isnt getting richer plz help, i think i might just swith it for a holly soon
