What the heck I can not adjust setting as I cruise down the street, lol I should have known, but the only time I put it in park is when I am getting out lol.

Hi All:
If you have the 5.7 Hemi you have the MDS system. If your truck was built after mid December 08 you should have the light. You can find your build date on the drivers door tag with the tire info. On the bottom of the tag is a 6 nmber combo, mine is 081810 and it translates to 08=august 18=day 10=10:00 AM. Mine is an early build so no light.

I get very good gas milege, but there is an update for the MDS system and it will make it even better. A lot of the dealers don't even now about it but it is on a service bulliton.
The number is TSB 18-019-09. I had mine done and it took about 3 weeks to settle down to where it has made a noticable differance. It was suposed to activate the Fuel Saver light but it didn't

I have an earlier build, so I don't have the fuel saver light, but I can definitely tell when it is working. Your RPM's drop down to about 1500 and your average mpg climbs fairly steadily if you view that.

I went in today and had the flash done. I was getting around 14.5 around town. 17-18 hwy. Now I'm getting 18 just on the drive back from the dealership on a city/hwy 25 mile trip. What a difference, not only the mileage, but the throttle response is A LOT better, shifting more crisp.

Mine was made in Sept. '08, so no light, but all you have to do is watch the mileage guage go up to know it's on. Pretty seamless, kinda hard to tell it's on or off except for the exhaust tone.

I can't believe a dealership would let somebody drive off the lot without doing this!! I bought mine 3 weeks ago. If I hadn't seen it on here I probably never would have even known about it. Thanks guys!!

If you haven't had it done call your dealership today and have it done. It's highly recomended.

Doug

What Doug was talking about is go to your Dealer with the build date of your truck and the Service Bulletin number TSB 18-019-09 from Jim above.

And ask to have your Eprom ( Erasable, Programmable, Read, Only, Memory) Flashed to the newest revision.

Or just ask to have your MDS Updated per the Bulletin.

Great tip guys.

Now I gotta go out a look at my build date. Even though I just picked the truck up on the 12th of this month, I know it's been sitting somewhere for a while.

Thanks

Mohawk

Ram4x4cc
TSB 18-019-09 is an upgrade (FLASH) to your trucks computer that re-programs the MDS (MULTIPUL DISPLACEMENT SYSTEM) to come on sooner, more often, and as it shuts down 4 of your 8 cylinders your gas milage goes up. You can barely feel it, but can see it on your MPG monitor. Call your service manager and ask if he/she knows about the TSB. If they don't Know find another dealer who does. It is an upgrade for all 5.7 HEMI'S
