Default Amsoil worth it?

i recently bought my used ram 1500 hemi used and am going to switch to synthetic oil. i have a good oportunity to buy the 5w20 amsoil synthetic. ive always heard good things about amsoil, but just want to make sure its a good choice for the hemi before i purchase it. also are there any other things i should know/use if i use the amsoil. do i need to change out my tranny fluid, gear oil, or anything else if i use amsoil. and what about the filter, is a normal oil filter ok to use. any help, opinions, or anything like that is very helpful. my dealer sells mobil 1's synthetic oil. is that a better choice for our hemi? any has anyone tried to get a dealer oil change but bring there own amsoil?
