Default Just another Synth oil ?

Would like to start using synthetic oil in my 08 Ram.

Read in the manual about oil wieght and viscosity needs.

Does going with synth affect anything as long as its the same wieght?

Will it affect my warranty?

MDS ?

It shouldn't affect anything as long as use the same weight. I have been running synthetics in my vehicles for a long time, with no problems. I am currently using AMS in my Nitro with no problems and I am very happy with it. Just don't jump between regular oil one change and synthetic the next. That isn't good, it is better to stick to one or the other.

I would wait for the 3,000 break in then change over to the synthetic. Just my 2 cents.

There should be no issues just keep your receipts to cover the warranty. For your own pc of mind I would call the dealer.

It wont affect your warranty at all! I am running amsoil 0W-50 since the first oil change.

I have always changed the factory fill at 1000 miles. You would not believe all the junk that is in the oil. I will do another 3000 mile oil change with a Group III synthetic and after that use what you want. If you have the 5.7 HEMI use 5W20 motor oil.
