Default Putting a cutout in! :)

Hey guys...i finally broke down and ordered a cutout for my 08 ram hemi. I need that hemi sound!!!!! It way to quite for me! I don't have 500+ to spend on a exhaust so i just got this until i decided to get the whole exhaust....

I was woundering if anyone has done this? I plan to put it right before the mufller and make a 2 foot peice that basicly brings it under the bed but following the frame of the truck....maybe it will cut down drone??

Anyone else install a cut out...if so, hows the sound?

Tom S

I believe that is a good location. Though people say to put it right after the headers. I don't know if you'd pass emissions then. At least its coming after the cat on this one.

The sound is pretty good!

Oooo, which one did you get? I'm planning on QTP cutouts next summer when I do my headers/Y-pipe. The best place for them is right after the header as the point is to remove any and all restrictions from the piping, but after a high flow cat wouldn't be too bad. If you put it after the stock y-pipe you're REALLY cutting down on their effectivness as the y-pipe is HORRIBLE.

Now, as Alex said, you may have a harder time passing emmisions if your state cares about them

Yea, i plan on getting the electric cutout part later also. Right now i will just unbolt the cap when needed....its easy for a truck..since no jacks are required....I don't want it EXTRA loud, but i want to bypass the muffler and resinator on the system now. I think that will gelp a bunch right there...i will see if i can get some pics and some sound clips afterwards...i plan on doing it this weekend...

I would go with with the QTP, i beleive thats the one they say seals the best...
