Talking Came Across a New Intake for our Motors.. Well new to me at least.

What do you guys think of this product?

http://www.vararam.com/index.html

I emailed the tech guy about Mileage and power.

The ribbed hoses going to front of the truck just seem a little inefficient when compared to say a K&N with smooth tubes.

You can see some more pictures and such here

http://moesperformance.com/index.php...oducts_id=1443

I called a friend of mine that works for FEV in Detroit and he's supposed to get back with me about it.

There's a guy or two on here with the Vararam set up. I looked at it, and thought that it took up too much room and didn't look that good with the two snokels running through the engine bay.

Myself, I debated between a shaker intake/hood or a standard ram-air hood to a CAI and the ram-air hood won after I saw the Suncoast hood.

im a little skeptical about that one....looks ok at the top, but those hoses drape all the way down to your front bumper. Also, the length of the hose is how much that air has to travel to the intake...

I know some guys who put the Ramhammer CAI on and they love it. However, that company had some problems and I don't know if that is still available. There is a newer CAI that is pretty much a copy of it called BFI. It is a little pricey, but it is reported to be really good and high quality. I'd love to have one.

The VaraRam is the best! They are the ONLY company with a PERFORMANCE GARANTEE! They garrantee all truck to lose .3 of a second in the 1/4 mile and .6 of a second for 4x4s... They are going to be using my truck to do the development on the 09 Hemi! (I hope)

Well I know of guy who is highly modded and is runnin 12.5 in the 1/4 and yes it is a 4x4 who swears by the BFI and he also used the others. So I will believe his testimony over any company trying to sell a product. So until you try out other intakes along with the vararam, you can't claim they are the best.

They have a Money Back Garrantee if you don't improve .6 seconds in the 1/4 mile. There is a guy with a Bone Stock RCSB 09 that ran a 14.02. take the Garranteed .6 of that and you have a 13.42 with a stock truck... that is what makes it the best... it is the ONLY intake that takes the Cold air from outside the engine bay... the BFI is a great intake but it sucks in hot air...

Believe what ya want but your not pickin up .6 in the 1/4 with a simple intake change maybe you will pickup .2 but not .6. So until you do a test with a vararam and other intakes you personally cannot claim them to be the best.

Oh yeah and if I am correct that guy only ran a 14.02 once and never could duplicate it, so who to say it ran that. What has your truck run and show the slips to prove it.
